Our favourite lamestream media print “journalist”, Anne Wason Moore has written a hit piece on our signs about the Toxic Fire Ant Program. Before we delve into the article in the Gold Coast Bulletin I just want to say a wholehearted thank you to Ms Wason Moore for the free publicity, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
^The headline says our signs are going to create “suburban warfare” on the Gold Coast. Well, not really Ann, the only “warfare” being perpetrated here is chemical warfare being done by the National Fire Ant Eradication Program against the environment, native wildlife, our streams, creeks and watercourses, people’s pets and livestock and people’s health. Let’s read on….
^Apparently Ann grew up in Texas, where fire ants are prevalent. Strangely, she makes the erroneous claim there’s been more fire ant deaths there than any other state in the US. Really Ann?
Even your own fellow Texan, Dr Robert Puckett couldn’t come up with that conclusion. When he was here in August he cited two deaths in the US. One of a high school football player who was tackled on an ant mound and received several fire ant stings, and subsequently died from anaphylactic shock. As you should know Ann, you can suffer from an allergic reaction and die from a multitude of different insect stings and venomous animal bites. Including bees, wasps, spiders, and all sorts of nasty critters that roam the urban environment. Dr Puckett then went to say he knew a guy that died from a heart attack, and he just assumed that it was the dreaded fire ant that caused it. Even though that was never established.
I knew a guy in his 30s that died from a heart attack after suffering anaphylactic shock from a bee sting, must have been that dreaded fire ant hey?
Dr Puckett also said he’s been stung multiple times by fire ants over the years, with no ill effects. But let’s not worry about that one. By the way, here’s a list of US deaths from fire ants since the 1930s, see below:
^Holy Shit! Bees, Mosquitoes, Wasps and Fleas have killed more people. We’re going after the wrong insect Ann!
Let’s move on….
^ “It’s quick, easy and safe”….Where have we heard that before?
The NFAEP says they are going to treat 100% of the targeted areas whether there are fire ants present and visible or not. But Ann, that goes against their own permit!
Why would they break their own rules Ann?
https://permits.apvma.gov.au/PER90213.PDF
They are also breaking their own rules regarding treatment when rain is forecast, or when it is raining. Surely you’ve seen them out and about baiting people’s properties in our fickle weather Ann?
I am just assuming you’d know that has occurred because you are a very diligent reporter.
Back to the article….
Hey Ann, have you seen the Material Safety Data Sheets for the poisons they are using?
Check them out: Pyriproxyfen – https://www.titanag.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/SDS_TITAN-PYRIPROXYFEN-100-INSECT-GROWTH-REGULATOR.pdf
S Methoprene – https://sumitomo-chem.com.au/sites/default/files/sds-label/s-methoprene_tg_sds_201612.pdf
Fipronil – tinyurl.com/fipronilmsds
Don’t get me wrong Ann, maybe these WHO approved safety data sheets are wrong, and the chemicals are harmless. However when I see the phrases “Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects”, “Causes damage to organs through prolonged and repeated exposure”, “Harmful in contact with skin”, “May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways”, and “Combustible liquid”…..I tend to believe otherwise.
Let’s keep going shall we….
Trespassing is a criminal offence Ann, according to the Qld Police Service https://mypolice.qld.gov.au/farnorth/2019/10/31/to-enter-private-land-you-must-have-permission-from-the-owner/
Perhaps the cops are wrong Ann?
All our conspiracy theories have come true Ann, we’re starting to run out of them. 😉
^ C’mon Ann….I thought you did your due diligence?
Our signs are $18 each, not $108. If you’d bothered to go to this link https://aussieflyers.com/product/no-trespass-private-property-legal-notice you’d see there is a minimum order of 6, and they are $18 each. That goes for all our fire ant signs people can purchase. And we do indeed, provide a free print ready file if people want to get them printed themselves, see here –https://aussieflyers.com/pdf/legal-notice-private-property-no-trespass
We do that with all our signs, flyers and other printed material. Nice try though.
^ I beg to differ on this one Ann, there’s tonnes of evidence these chemicals in flea and tick treatments and collars are harmful for pets. Here’s just one, see chart below:
Here’s a free tip Ann, go and talk to Dr Karl and Dr Michael from Currumbin Fair Vet Surgery, they’ll fill you in.
^ Actually Ann, a lot of the harrassment is coming directly from some, not all, employees of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program. I personally know people who’ve been stalked, abused, had padlocks broken on their gates by members of the NFAEP attempting to unlawfully trespass on their properties, and had teenage children intimidated by what can only be described as “thuggish” behaviour by some of the staff from the toxic fire ant program. But don’t take my word for it, contact me [email protected] and I will put you in direct contact with those individuals.
Anyway Ann, thanks once again for your fantastic article. Here’s what a few of your readers had to say…
“The article is inciting urban warfare and has doxed an individual Reg Reubens who runs aussieflyers.com”
“Ann’s article ignores the concerns of residents and smears them as conspiracy theorists.”
“If Ann had any journalist integrity and looked into the topic she would have named the poisons they are using. And if she had wisdom and want to be a Grandmother one day she would notice these poisons interfere with hormone function, potentially cause cancer, reproductive issues.”
“Anne do you want your daughters to have children and their children to have children in a world with butterflies and bees.“
“Anne goes to the extreme to say even H2O can be dangerous as high levels.”
Great reviews there Ann, but wait…there’s more….
“The same tin foil hats that said the vaccines weren’t safe and effective and were right all along? Those guys? Turns out those guys were right weren’t they?”
“I noticed Gold Coast Bulletin that you used the sign I had made by Reg Reubens. After the NFAEP came and violated their own permit. I asked for the MSDS and permit. When I read both, I saw that the Toxic Program had actually violated their own permit on several points. So I had this sign made to educate future fire ant poisoning employees to abide by their own permits.”
“They sprayed my area and my dog got sick. I thought at first it was something she ate but then on our doggy walks I found that a whole bunch of dogs got sick around the same time in my area. Correlational yes but correlation is the base to prove causation.
Read the msds then think, if puppies get crook what of other species, are they at even higher risk?”
I particularly liked this review Ann: “Please be kind to Ann Wason Moore, she’s an “old stool” reporter who asks the hard (s)hitting questions. Here’s some of her best work https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/gold-coast/ann-wason-moore-on-whether-its-ok-to-poo-during-work-hours/news-story/cf407172ae0c9e8c71b05ad5357f2f9a “
Have a great day Ann and again, thanks for the free publicity.
